Question About Databases Frequencies

Hello, I'm trying to program my Uniden BCD396XT using systems and groups and was wondering if someone could explain the 'TYPE' and MODE columns on the database page of this website. Right now, everything is just loaded without any organization on my scanner and I just want to clean it up a little.
