just got home.stopped at a garage sale. i found this RS pro197, no owners manual, no power supply. no antenna. price tag said $3.00. i gave them a 5 dollar bill, told them to keep the change. i know nothing of this scanner. been listning for years and years. all i have at the present time is a RS bdt396xt and a icom r-75 with a stand alone multi code reader.
on the update window it reads : up bootver:rf1.2
up app ver:ru1.8
i have a couple ( 4 or 5) questions :
1) what is the highest update number, and what web site do i get them from ?
2) i dont see a usb sockett, so i expect i have to purchase a cable with the multi pin plug, correct ?
3} the missing updates, are they critical to the operation of the scanner ?
4) does "freescan" support the rs pro 197 ?
5) is the scanner worth spending the money on ?
