dx-394 not picking up

I came across a Radio shack dx-394 (A) at a yard sale last week and I thought it was a good deal at 15 bucks

but when I got it home and plugged her up very thing seemed to be working fine but it will not pick up any signals .

I think it must have been wracked by a surge from the antenna.

that there is some kind of first stage RF FET transistor that Pops out and need to be changed

have any of you guys had to deal with this or know of a post on line that takes you step by step on how to do it

I really like like this radio and would like to get it going if I can
