HDTV: Channel tagged 9-4? KUSA or KTVD transmitter?

Living out here a ways out of Denver in Elbert County, we've always had a difficult time receiving the two VHF transmitters at Lookout for tagged channels 7 and 9.

Channel 4 has always been good out here, showing a distinct difference with UHF propagation and antenna gain out to here, from the same tower, granted they're on top.

Recently we notice we are receiving a tagged channel of 9-4. None of these TV's have the ability to see what base RF channel this 9-4 channel is being received on, but at least a couple of websites have info that this is a simulcast of 9-1. They don't say how though.

Did KUSA decide to simulcast the VHF stuff on a sub-channel of KTVD, perhaps?

I can't tell with the gear I've got.

Anyone know what site/which transmitter 9-4 is coming from?

Works real well out here.

In general, VHF from Lookout (and even other sites) doesn't seem to have worked as well as UHF in the fringes.

Of course with a good antenna pointed at any of them, they'll all work. We get the surrounding stuff from further east and Colorado Springs with directional antennas, pretty easily.

It's just nice to see 9 doing whatever they did to fill in for wimpy antennas and "rabbit ears".

I have a note off to KUSA to ask also. If I hear back, I'll share whatever I get in reply.
