CY 5000 repeater help

All, my radio club was recently donated two Icom CY 5000 repeaters from a local agency. I've been doing some research, & everything I have found indicates this machine is only able to use 6.25/12.5 kc channel spacing. We are interested in using these repeaters for 2 meter ham.



You guys will have to forgive me, I'm a Kenwood guy trying to help the club trustee with these machines. What will it take to make them do 5kc channel spacing? Firmware change or send them back to Icom maybe?



I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts & expierence with this machine.
