I just received a newer version KG-UV8D with firmware 1.03 that has the 2.5 kHz steps, etc. It also has the two green buttons on the front panel.
It has newer/different icons on the LCD display not explained in the manual that came with the radio, and I haven't been able to find any info on them anywhere on the web. One is a flashing black telephone handset icon that only appears after a signal has gone away, and the icon flashes for several seconds. It's not shown on the LCD icons page, nor is it explained anywhere in the manual. I contacted the dealer and asked if they knew of any newer manual that was available or was going to be available, and they said no. Does anyone know of any source on the web that may have an updated version? I know there are several sites with manuals, but they all have the original display.
