Vehicle antenna for HT

Hopefully will be passing my Tech exam this Saturday.

I've got one of the highly controversial cheap Chinese Baofeng BF-F8HP radios. It was free. It's going to be the only one I'll have access to for a long time.

I know the rubber duck antennas are terrible for inside the car. However I don't want to drill any holes.

What are my options?

I was thinking a trunk mag mount or maybe even better. I've got a moon roof and could put a window mount right there.

The idea would be to remove the rubber duck antenna when driving and plug in the mounted antenna.

I'm in the Dallas area so it's all mostly flat.

Or would it just be better to buy a higher quality rubber duck antenna for the HT and forget vehicle antennas?

My car is an 01 camry.
