Getting licensed

Hello fellow radio heads! I'm looking to do the jump from receiving to transceiving as I would like to join the local repeaters (VE6CTV/VE6OIL) in & around Calgary. I listen to the net quite a bit & get loads of enjoyment out the discussions & topics that arise. So to sum up my question, where/how do I apply for a operators license in Alberta?
