ce-142 programming not saving to radio

i recently purchased an evx-5400. Also bought what i was told was a ct104a usb cable. I was told by the dealer that no fif12a was needed with this cable. Upon trying to program the radio , I noticed a few things 1 the cable shipped not the vertex ct-104a usb as advertised but a 3rd party cable. also that when trying to program the radio info programmed would not transfer to the radio. what is odd is that the radio and computer are talking but as stated no programmed info is saved to the radio



has this happened to anyone else? not sure what else to try
