What Has Happpened to Customer Service?

This is an open note to Uniden since they do not believe in managers nor do they belive in phone contact at the corporate leve. UPMan I hope you bring this so far three times unanswered note to three "Newsletters" (looked more like advertising to me) that were sent last week.

Why should I buy any Uniden products?



I have a Uniden cored phone that was not working correctly. I called the Phone Support; they were closed at 10am, for lunch of all things. I called back at about 1pm, waited in the cue for some 25 of so minuets. I get a gal that asked to the model number, I tell her I do not know. I have had this phone for many years. I follow her instructions and tell her what it is per the upper left corner of the attached bar code label. She precedes to argue with me say that I am not reading the correct label.



After many minuets of this I ask to speak to the manager. I am refused and this discussion escalates in to a near argument with repeated request and finally demands to speak to someone in charge. Her answer the this was to hang up on me. I attempt to contact Uniden corporate offices after having a frustrated time finding no live person on the phone. I then call the Uniden Sales phone number, I ask for help there and am refused there as well. Even at his number am refused my request to speak to someone in authority.



During this latest phone call I navigate through the web site of the scanners that are online and seeing the 20 to 50 percent sale, I decide to check the prices and prices to be discounted considerably less that what the banner says. (In California this is a crime.) I then once again attempt a futal try at phoning the corporate phone number only to get no line help there.



Companies that refuse to provide excellent customer service should not be permitted to stay in business. I fail to see any honest effort on the part of Uniden in providing customer service. The internet and web is no substitute for providing service. i should only be a tool in supplementing this support.






I guess in the 21st century companies think customer service in putting up a web site and farming out the customer service to people that do not care and are not knowledge of the product line, not are willing to look up or help callers.



UPMan I hope you bring this bad customer service experience to the attentions of someone in your ocmpany that is able to correct the problem.
