Anyone know what the AZ DPS VHF frequencies are used for? Many of the DPS squad cars have VHF antennas on them which could be used for common VHF interop frequencies. Been monitoring 154.905 MHz, could not hear the mobiles but heard the Phoenix DPS dispatcher reply on 154.905 with vehicle registrations. Who are they communicating with?
The dispatcher is not transmitting to the normal Phoenix Metro East, West or Central Units nor the Yuma, Casa Grande, Globe or Prescott units. Dispatch calling on 154.905 MHz to 1A20, 2A32, 2B11 and other similarly identified units. This dispatcher goes off the air late at night then back into service in the morning.
The other VHF frequencies in question are: 154.445, 154.935, 154.92, 155.46, 154.665 also remain a mystery but thought I heard a training exercise on one of them a few weeks ago.
Anyone have any additional information on the above frequencies?
