ws1080 update battery drain??

the latest update i did to my scanner went smooth but i noticed a drastic difference in battery consumption. One set of batteries would last me 8 hrs . Then i did update and a fresh charged set only lasts about 3 hrs . Is there a setting im missing somewhere to slow battery consumption ??
