A tidbit of info.
I got a good deal on a couple of used UT-110 scrambler modules. I didn't understand the significance of the letter "R" in the UT-110R versions until tonight.
I don't quite know why, there must be some reason for it, they look pretty much exactly the same, but the connectors are keyed differently. I think maybe the "R" in the UT-110R version maybe means "Reverse Polarity". The non-R version wont plug into a radio designed for an "R" board. I think the "R" radios are the newer designs.
