Interference?...

I have been receiving quite a bit of what seems to be interference noise - particularly when I use a outdoor antenna and in the 30-50mhz range...



the radios I use are a Uniden BC355n and a Uniden 996xt

It does not occur if I have a squelch tone set



I have attached recordings of the noise

When it happens it usually "gets stuck" on the frequency and dosent usually stop unless I lock it out however strangely enough it dosent happen ALL of the time...



Is there a way to prevent this?

could it be a problem with the radios themselves?

is this harmful?
