Remote head issue

I just installed 2 996xt's under the seat of my new Dodge Ram 1500. They are connected to two BC-RH96 remote heads that I have mounted to the lower dash. The scanners work great when the remote heads are not connected, but as soon as I connect the remote heads, I get no signal strength bars on our local P25 systems. It will continue to pick up VHF ok, but I lose all ability to receive P25 800 mhz systems. Anyone have any clues what could be the issue? Is the cable between the remote and scanner getting interference from something in the truck? Im at a loss.
