Do scanners need "maintenance"?

I know standard two way radios need to be serviced every so often, alignments and tuning and such. I've just started wondering if my BC346XT needs the same. I have done the firmware updates as they've come out, but I feel like the reception is...off I guess.





Or am I just over thinking things?
