Sailmail and PACTOR

If you've been reading the UDXF logs for any length of time, you will have seen the name 'Sailmail' - an email service for yachts. They usually use one of the many variants of PACTOR (1 through 4), and while there are packages that can copy this mode, I would imagine that the email contents are encrypted...

Anyway, this website lists all the stations, callsigns and frequencies - handy if you happen to tune this and wonder what it is...

SailMail

Now what software can copy PACTOR? Good question...

  • go2decode (many variants)

  • go2monitor (many variants)

  • Hoka Code 3-32P (Pactor 1 and 2)

  • Hoka Code 300-32(P) (many variants, some by special order)

  • Krypto500 (several variants)

  • MixW (Amateur Radio Service versions of Pactor 1 and 2)

  • MultiPSK (Pactor 1 only)

  • Sorcerer

  • Wavecom W-Code (several variants)

With the exception of go2decode and go2monitor, all the other packages are listed in the website of my sig. Here are those 2...

go2DECODE Specifications - shoc

go2MONITOR Specifications - shoc
