Pursuits and Manhunt

There is a manhunt underway in Meigs County after a suspect led officers on two pursuits this morning. The suspect was able to elude a Pomeroy officer in the first pursuit, but deputies encountered him a few minutes later and another pursuit began. In the second pursuit, the suspect nearly collided head-on with a deputy. Speeds in the second pursuit reached 100 mph. The suspect's tires were flattened and he bailed out on State Route 143. He was last seen in the woods. Canine units are on scene to assist. Weather conditions are poor, so fire and EMS units have been brought in to keep the searchers warm.
