I have some pre-recorded taped audio of conversations which were compandered by the system. Unfortunately the receiver used does not have facilities to expand the audio which would be a benefit to intelligibility. I am not looking for a receiver with a compander, that ship sailed when the recordings were first made. Any suggestions? I Have Audacity, but there does not appear to be an expander plug in.
Thoughts? A sound card solution is sought, yes I have some pieces of a compandered radio, but don't want to break out a soldering iron for this.
