I thought I would toss a thread here in case anybody has some advice for me before I go out and buy a new scanner, so thank you in advance for any of your thoughts.
I've had my PRO-95 for a number of years, and love listening to all the random chatter I can pick up on it. I've never had a problem with it before this evening, and it was working just fine for me earlier today.
I turned it on a couple of hours ago, and instead of being able to push search and have it automatically scan around and pick up conversations, it's not actively doing any scanning. Instead, it just sits on whatever frequency it happens to be on, as if it thinks it's picking up a signal. This is happening on all of the search options (CB/HAM/Marine/Police/etc.) If I push up or down, it just moves up or down to the very next frequency and continues to sit there.
I thought "Oh, well, I just moved to a new city so all of the channels I had saved don't really apply anymore." and I did a factory reset. Still, no change.
I've tried brand new batteries, and I've tried several different locations. I don't have any antenna other than the one it came with, but removing that doesn't make any difference either.
All in all, the scanner seems to be operating totally normal besides not scanning/searching, and I haven't made any kind of changes to it since it was working great just earlier today (besides resetting it).
Does anybody have any ideas on what could be going on or if it's fixable?
