It is being reported by NJ's news12.com the Bergen County Police will be merged in to the Bergen County Sheriff's Department. The Bergen County Police will cease to exist at that point. An agreement was signed between the BCPD and Sheriff on January 1, 2015.
It is now up to the county freeholders to approve or deny the merger at a special meeting sometime this month.
If the merger is approved, what type of changes will we see with their communications. Especially their UHF P25 trunked system, reassignment of talk groups and perhaps though remote, the possibility of the routine communications being in the clear..? Yea right?
