I was a prime member for a couple of years. Before that, the orders normally shipped out within a day or two anyway using the super saver shipping. This past spring I canceled my prime membership, not so much because of the price increase but because I didn't think I was going to use it that much any more (in large part due to the sales tax they now charge) and since it only took a couple days at the most to ship out an order and the orders showed up within a couple of days anyway, I didn't see the benefit of free 2 day shipping. The other benefits were nice but not worth the money IMO.
Since doing that, they have been taking a really long time to ship stuff out. And YES, I'm talking about stuff that is "sold by and shipped from amazzzon". I just canceled an order I placed a week ago because it still hasn't shipped out. I ordered it from somewhere else that was several dollars more but tells me to expect delivery by thursday. Amazzzon was telling me by the 17th! and it's only the 8th and still no word on when they will ship it. I think Amazzon has mistaken me for a bank that makes interest free loans.
I noticed their return procedure has also changed. They used to have an option to get an instant credit. I didn't have that option on a recent return. They credit you back once they get the merchandise back.
Another recent shipping related screw up was not handled very well either.
If this is Amazzzon getting even with me for cancelling my prime membership, I got news for them. They're not the only game in town.
I really liked buying from Amazzzon. Their service was always great. Never had a problem with shipping or turnaround until recently. I gave them a few more chances but I mean come on! I don't think it's reasonable to wait over a week for the shipment of an in-stock item. I get the sensation that they don't care any more either.
So here's an idea. They can kiss my butt....
GOODBYE.
We've all heard of showrooming. Where a customer goes into a local retailer to check something out and then orders it online. Well more often than not lately, I find myself doing the opposite... Checking stuff out online then buying it locally.
Thank you for listening.
Is anyone else noticing this?
