I just got a new BCD436HP and am getting back into scanning after several years. My previous experience with trunking was with the BC245XLT and listening to the old MECA system. I see it is now a whole different world with digital and the SAFE-T system. I have my 436HP up and running just fine using the Sentinel software, but do have one question regarding SAFE-T sites and talk group assignments. Is there an information source that shows which talk groups are assigned to (or active on) a particular site?
For example, I will be moving down to just south of Fairland and would like to listen to the Pendleton reformatory, but don't know if I will be able to catch the Pendleton site from that far south. I assume it's not possible to monitor the Pendleton reformatory talk groups via the Shelby county SAFE-T site.
Thanks in advance for any help. I have a large learning curve to climb.
