Within the past 9 or so months I noticed that my Motorola JT-1000 and HT-1000 radios do not function as a alert on a specifically programmed local fire department frequency and fire tone code. I have not changed any characteristics with-in the radios prior to noticing that the fire tones were no longer heard and alerting the radios.
Prior to the current issues the local fire department were programmed and could be set to alert when their specific 2-tone sequence were received by the JT-1000 or HT-1000.
I have a Uniden BC-396XL scanner that functions as a fire tone receiver and alerts when the specific tone tone code is transmitted per the fire department. The frequency and fire tones are the same as I have programmed into the JT-1000 and HT-1000.
Neither has the base frequency of 154.3100 MHz nor the 2-tone frequencies have changed for the fire department.
I have programmed the JT-1000 and HT-1000 radios with the IF bandwidth for the 12.5 KHz, narrow and 25/30 KHz wide band with no change in results.
The base frequency and specific fire tone have been programmed into a service monitor and in generator mode, the JT-1000 and HT-1000 do alert as normally intended.
I purchased the ComTekk two-tone decode software and programmed the information into the JT-1000 and HT-1000.
The software that I have for the Motorola radio programming is HT-1000, RVN-4098G, R03.02.01
The model number of the JT-1000 is H01KDH9PA3AN
Model number of the HT-1000 is H01KDC9AA3DN
The radios functioned properly prior to the time when I noticed that they were not alerting any more.
I am surmising something has change with the way the fire department alerts and transmits their tones, but I cannot quite discover what has changed to prevent the Motorola HT-1000 and JT-1000 from alerting when on the base frequency and received fire tones, why the radios don't alert and "Tone-Out", yet the Uniden scanner alerts on fire tones while receiving the same RF.
I could have an issue with my Compaq Persario Windows 98 computer or the programming software, maybe it's not changing the IF bandwidth to 12.5 Khz.
I am utilizing OEM RIB device and radio programming cables.
Any comments, suggestions and help would greater be appreciated
