I have two identical Radio Shack discone antennas running through a 4 position switch, out to a Stridsberg active multicoupler, to my BCD436, a BC125AT, and an Icom IC-R7100.
One antenna is mounted outside about 6-8 feet above my roofline. The other is in the attic just resting on the lower radials.
In most cases, the outside antenna provides noticeably better reception on all three receivers, especially on fringe or weaker signals. But, there are a few times when listening to civil air band transmissions, that the lower, inside antenna actually gives a clearer copy with less noise.
Any ideas on why that would be?

Identical antennas...Different reception
