COIRS - Dublin-Delaware

Hi. After much going crazy, I finally have my old trusty BC296D trunking rather well on COIRS. My problem involved an incorrect P25 Sound Quality Control setting. I had it set so far off by accident that I mistakenly caused my unit to not pick up anything. Once re-adjusted, transmissions have re-returned.

Right now, I have programmed two different banks for COIRS. One for Delaware, the other for the Dublin/Worthington. I only input the primary and secondary control frequencies, and have them both set for Control Channel Only with Plan 4. Both banks set to Mode NFM, 12.5 Steps, End Ignore, Status Bit Off. Does all this seem correct so far? I seem to be receiving things fine, both in the ID Scan mode to pick up the few TG's I've input so far, and also the ID Search seems to be picking up other stuff too.

Again, is it best to have two banks setup to split COIRS? It's a bit confusing because I've picked up some Dublin TG's in the Delaware bank. Hum. I was hoping Dublin wouldn't appear in both, and visa-versa.

The good news for me is that being located near Tuttle Mall, I'm picking up everything loud and clear on my unit.

I'd appreciated more input regarding how folks have configured their COIRS, and maybe just a bit about how these two apparent separate, but maybe bound systems actually work.

Thanks very much. Chuck (Dublin, Ohio)
