Icom F70/F80

Does the F70/F80 series portables transmit reduced power when using the alkaline 6 AA case? My F40GT's switch to 1 watt on AA power due to a grounded "pad" not being present on the battery case. My U82 ham units transmit 3.5 to 4 watts on AA's.
