Recently, I was "loaned" the codeplug for a TRBO system in a neighboring state to Georgia. The only catch is that this codeplug is "READ ONLY". My question is this - is there a way to remove the READ ONLY restriction. Before anyone overreacts, I'm absolutely NOT interested in transmitting on my 6550. The reason I am interested is that I've been told that READ ONLY radios will not work on a TRBO system.



Can someone confirm that a READ ONLY codeplug will allow me to monitor a TRBO system? And, if not, is there a way to change a READ ONLY codeplug to remove the READ ONLY?
